One Step Closer

Delilah* was reflecting on her time following a trip to Tourism Congress. It is a time for students to attend forums where they learn about the tourism industry, and then spend a day within the industry working. Delilah’s role was to be a support for her peers, and she realized very quickly it wasn’t a space she wanted to work within full-time.

“The time was interesting,” she shared with Back2Back staff. “But I don’t think this is the right role for me. I know I finished well, and I am one step closer to knowing exactly what I should be doing with my future.”

Back2Back staff are diligent in providing new life experiences to every child and adolescent in the Strong Families Program. The goal of this is to offer a broader picture of what each of them can become, regardless of economic or geographical circumstances. Delilah’s family has struggled financially, but social workers and staff have supported them through activities and outings and with this assistance, the family has set goals and work daily to achieve them.

Delilah has faced many challenges since beginning higher education classes, but she remains steadfast in her goals and is now completing her second year of university. As she navigates deciding what path is best for her, please join Back2Back staff in prayer that she would be open to God’s leading and listen to voices wiser than her own.
