Jeny is 13 years old, and the second oldest of eight children. Jeny lives with her mother, Oti, in a modest home outside of Cancun, Mexico. She likes to sing and enjoys taking dance classes with her sister Marisol. She’s friendly and responsible. And she absolutely loves Justin Bieber.

Before becoming involved with Back2Back, Jeny had never attended school. Once we began working with her, she was able to test into the second grade. After only a year in school, her advanced learning skills became obvious. She tested out of third grade and skipped ahead to fourth. She has a tutor after school and is excelling at her studies. Her favorite subject is math. Her school fees and tutoring are possible because of Back2Back’s Child Sponsorship Program.
When Jeny grows up, she wants to be a singer. Back2Back staff serve Jeny and other at-risk families as a measure of preventative orphan care, part of a larger effort to help keep families in tact by supporting single moms with resources, tools and encouragement.
