Sometimes, in the midst of the holiday busyness, it’s all we can do to press on, moving forward, trusting our legs to pull us ahead when our heart is weary. So we march on, letting hope carry us forward – believing the best is yet to come.
Ever since our kids were little, we’ve put them to bed asking two questions, “Who did you see being kind today?”
If you read no farther than this first paragraph, know these two things. First, ministry to vulnerable and orphaned children and their families is really hard, but we are not going anywhere. Second, it takes a tremendous amount of resources to provide holistic care and every little bit counts.
Lately, I have been talking to my kids about an outward focused life. Some call it missions, others call it outreach, I am hoping we call it normal. I have been explaining my heart for orphans as a ‘burr under my saddle’.
