David: Children’s Home Captain
Jordan: Children’s Home Captain
Monterrey

David joined Back2Back staff in 2020, but Back2Back has always been part of his life. He and his parents served as caregivers at one of Back2Back’s partnering children’s home for 6 years, and his mother Katy cooks for all of Back2Back’s visiting mission teams. Growing up around children and teens from hard places gave him an enormous heart to advocate for those who don’t have a voice and have the odds stacked against them. David now serves as the captain of a Children’s Home, where he is a peace-bringing, fun, and steady presence for the children and staff. David also serves as a projects coordinator for visiting mission teams, which he loves. In his free time, David is always thinking of little DIY home improvement projects to bless Jordan, and if he’s not with her, he is at his other happy place: the local Home Depot.

Jordan has been called to international missions since she was a little girl, and saying yes after yes to Jesus led her to Back2Back Ministries in 2018. Her background in early childhood education and teaching internationally made her passionate about Back2Back’s DNA: Trauma Competent Care. Jordan now teaches Trauma Competent Care in English to mission trip guests and in Spanish to children’s home staff, caregivers, children, and biological families. She serves as the captain at a Children’s Home, where she is a “Big Sister” to 22 little boys. Jordan and David met serving together in the kitchen of a Back2Back youth retreat. Over the next few years, they saw how God was weaving their stories together, and they joyfully married in December 2021. They are committed to keep saying yes to Jesus and staying in the fight for the orphan as long as He allows. In her free time, Jordan is a writer and storyteller, and she can often be found in her kitchen creating new breads and desserts to share while watching the Great British Baking Show.
