Teacher for Staff kids (in partnership with YWAM)

As a teacher, you will spend part of your time leading a small multi-age classroom of staff children using a Homeschool curriculum.

Position summary: Support long-term staff families and connect directly with children we serve through a hybrid role that makes a multi-level impact in the mission and vision of the ministry. As a teacher, you will spend part of your time leading a small multi-age classroom of staff children using a Homeschool curriculum.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Manage and teach a small classroom with multiple grade levels (2nd to 5th grade or 6th and up grades)  of staff children.
  • Assist parents on planning quarterly instructional units with measurable outcomes per grade level. (if needed and or requested by parents)
  • Follow designated curriculum.
  • Follow and assist kids on different levels on the lesson plans assign on their own curriculum
  • Implement additional material to support curriculum objectives.
  • Record regularly reported grades and hold parent conferences.
  • Assist as needed with organizational special events.
  • Develop and maintain a team of ministry partners that fully fund the position.

Required education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree

Required skills and abilities:

  • Have a clear understanding of and commitment to Back2Back’s mission and vision.
  • Adhere to and share the Back2Back Statement of Faith, Cultural Values, and Standards of a Staff Member.
  • Operate with basic competency in Microsoft Office and Google Applications.
  • Organized
  • Strong verbal and written communication in English
  • Travel to and work in a third-world environment.
  • Work independently and efficiently to coordinate and execute systems and processes.
  • Understand and be sensitive to those of other cultures, personalities, functions, and skills.
  • Demonstrate high reliability through timeliness and execution of responsibilities.
