Hope Program House Parent

To live with Hope Program students as a family in a home on the Monterrey campus and actively participate as parents to the students who are part of the program. This includes attending to their needs, recognizing and respecting each of them and empathically helping them as an individual, a group and through institutional problems.

Position summary: To live with Hope Program students as a family in a home on the Monterrey campus and actively participate as parents to the students who are part of the program. This includes attending to their needs, recognizing and respecting each of them and empathically helping them as an individual, a group and through institutional problems.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Know in detail the life and history of each student under their care.
  • Maintain a Development Plan for each student and promote their integral development in each of the following areas: Spiritual, physical, academic, emotional and social.
  • Establish and maintain a healthy family dynamic in your home.
  • Establish healthy bonds with students at home.
  • Make decisions based on healthy development for students.
  • Properly manage the resources, services and infrastructure of the house they are in charge of.
  • Be responsible with the administration and resources designated for the home.
  • Raise healthy relationships and work on behalf of the community in which you are working.
  • Develop healthy relationships with the biological families of the students under their care.
  • Collaborate as a team with the area of ​​psychology, social work and administration to comply with the Development Plan of the students under their care.
  • Gather the requirements and activities that correspond to the Hope Program on behalf of Back2Back.

  • Promote extracurricular activities
  • Support the adolescent to participate in recreational, cultural, athletic or social activities
  • Gather weekly or bi-weekly follow-up meetings with the PE director and / or the technical team
  • Attention to attend the trainings given by the Institution or DIF Nuevo León
  • The tutor must support him in the strengthening of five basic areas: physical, spiritual, emotional, educational and social to strengthen the adolescent in the development of his life plan. 
  • The ordinary maintenance of the home is the responsibility of the parents of the house and the adolescents who live in the home. The tutor must make daily decisions, promote order and discipline over the students at home. 
  • Regarding legal matters, major medical treatments, change in schools or career, expulsion and admission to the Hope Program, travel outside the country, and other important decisions will be discussed with the Director of the Hope Program
  • Report directly to the Director of the Hope Program; everything related to training, supervision, work situations or crisis.
  • Develop and maintain a team of ministry partners that fully fund the position.

Required education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 3 years of experience working with adolescent
  • A couple who has been married for at least 3 years
  • 3 year commitment in order to give continuity and stability
  • Fluent in Spanish
