Summer months always mean visiting teams and busy schedules for children and families served in Monterrey and across Back2Back sites. As the season comes to an end, one partnering home is celebrating many of the teams that came, leaving lasting memories for the boys. A particularly memorable team arrived armed with laughter, excitement, and Lucha Libre masks! The visiting team planned a special surprise for the children, wearing colorful masks themselves and bringing a mask for each of the boys to choose. Together, they played games, took fun photos, and enjoyed a day full of play with safe adults. This, just as much as education and physical care, provides healing to every young man.
The home is also celebrating progress in construction on site. New apartments were built to host biological families who visit their children, and a training room is currently being prepared. There, classes will be held for parents and extended family members, equipping them with tools to strengthen their familial roles and create healthier family environments. Please join Back2Back in prayer over these spaces – that they would create felt-safety for everyone who inhabits them and for healing and growth to take place naturally as biological families reconnect with the young men at the home.
For ten years, faithful caregivers at the home have provided emotional, social, physical, and spiritual support for the boys at the home. They recently left for a well-deserved sabbatical, and two new caregivers were welcomed into the home. They are getting to know the young men in their care, learning routines and personalities, and it has been a smooth transition thus far. Caregivers play a vital role in the healing and growth of every child they care for, and we ask that you join Back2Back in prayer over these relationships and the many ways they will impact the boys’ futures.
They say it takes a village to raise children, and Back2Back believes it to be true. This important, holistic work cannot be accomplished without dedicated mission guests, caregivers, and safe spaces. We thank you for all you do to provide for the vulnerable. Together, we won’t stop until every child is known & loved.
