Back2Back Cincinnati recently celebrated an exciting milestone as they honored two high school graduates!

In 2020, the staff met two teens, Addy and Carlos. Addy joined the summer student staff in 2020. She spent her time working hard, discovering her own voice, and giving back to younger kids. Following that summer, she started connecting with a Back2Back Cincinnati Coach and Care Coordinator. They cheered her on as she tackled large goals – passing classes, saving money, and receiving a job offer outside of Back2Back. In the five years staff have spent walking alongside her, she has dreamed often and loudly. This year, she saw another dream come true – high school graduation. As she steps into this new season of her life, she will be studying to work within the medical field.

Around the same time, the staff met Carlos when he attended a reading program with his little sister. He immediately became a huge help to the staff team, and over the next two summers, jumped into teaching younger children how to read, self-regulate, and have safe fun. When he wasn’t helping staff, he was working hard through high school, earning strong grades and studying diligently for his ACT. Staff joyfully honors Carlos as he recently graduated from high school and plans to continue his studies.
