Dreams are taking flight, thanks to your faithful support, at Rukuba Home of Refuge. For years, late nights, long hours of studying, and faithful mentoring have helped young men and women achieve remarkable academic success, creating a wave of new university admissions that signals broken cycles and bright futures.
For many students, education once felt out of reach. Limited access to resources, financial hardship, and systemic barriers often made passing national exams a distant dream. But through consistent care, tutoring, and the guidance of safe adults, those barriers are being torn down — and hope is taking root.
There has recently been a shift in success and achievement within the walls of this partnering children’s home. This year alone, each student took a national exam that often requires multiple attempts to pass, and they each scored well above the minimum requirement, receiving distinction in over seven subjects.
Several students excitedly accepted positions at local universities, and sponsors, caregivers, and mentors alike share in their joy over academic success and in spiritual maturation. Once vulnerable children unsure of where they truly fit, these young adults are now faithful followers of God, expectant of what’s to come, and equipped with knowledge and the courage to traverse new paths.
This is the power of partnership in action: students do not remain stagnant; they grow, learn, change, and realize their own potential. Together, students and the safe adults in their lives are ensuring generational impact happens, and their futures are bright.
