Position summary: The Strong Families Manager offers holistic, trauma competent, relational care for families to keep families united and growing together toward dependence on Jesus, interdependence in community, and economic independence and sustainability. 

Primary responsibilities:

  • Maintains a caseload of families.
  • Oversees Family Care strategy.
  • Supervises Family Care Coordinators maintaining caseloads of families.
  • Leads the intake strategy for families as a participant on the Intake Team.
  • Walks families through the intake process and implements an assessment system to address current opportunities and barriers in the home, determine need for family care coordination.
  • Oversees the method of creation and maintenance of holistic goals including intervention strategies for families.
  • Advocate on behalf of and with families to create interdependence in community.
  • Oversee the evaluation and implementation of the Family Evaluation.
  • Oversee the strategy around celebrating families.
  • Oversee method of teaching caregiver affect management and self care to caregivers.
  • Utilize Social Work modalities to help families find their voice, build goals, mobilize their strengths, and overcome obstacles to their sustainability. 
  • Train and coach Social work modalities to Family Care Coordination staff.
  • Train, coach, and assign one on one responsibilities for family care coordination to staff.
  • Coach caregivers toward healing, connection, and interdependence as a family.
  • Lead interdisciplinary meetings and collaborate with interdisciplinary team to provide holistic care for youth and families.
  • Lead in crisis management, assess safety concerns, and problem solve as needed with families.
  • Lead collaboration efforts with local agencies involved with families and make referrals to additional local agencies as needed.
  • Oversee family care team’s documentation in the Back2Back Care Database.
  • Lead parent coaching interventions and strategy.
  • Lead opportunities for caregivers to grow holistically.
  • Lead initiative to connect caregivers to opportunities in communities.
  • Develop initiatives to give caregivers a safe space to process and heal from their stories.
  • Develop volunteer strategy to deepen care for caregivers.
  • Attend appropriate staff meetings and trainings.
  • Develop and maintain a team of ministry partners that fully fund the position.
  • Participate as a member of the Site Leadership Team.
  • Assist as needed with organizational special events.

Required education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Social Work (licensure preferred) [Certifications & CEU’s may also qualify]
  • Training in Trauma Competent Care
  • 2+years of experience working with children and families 

Required skills and abilities:

  • Knowledge of resources available to support youth and families in Cincinnati.
