Home Improvements for Strong Families

The Strong Families Program continues to develop in India as partnerships with families living in city slum areas deepen. Child Status Index assessments are one way Back2Back staff identifies major needs for the children and families served. One of the four Strong Families recently identified as having major needs for a toilet and a gas cooktop.

“Before partnerships began and the needs were known, the family used open toilets near their home and cooked their food over an open fire,” explained Sampath Burla, Back2Back staff. Now the family is benefitting from having their own, private toilet. The gas cooktop has provided a safer means with which to cook family meals. These are two distinct ways the Strong Families Program provides increased stability for each family served, allowing them more sustainability.

Thank you for partnering and advocating alongside Back2Back in providing care for today and hope for every tomorrow.
