Position summary: To develop tools and art skills in students, applicable to their educational, social and professional development.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Develop teamwork and artistic skills.
  • Encourage creativity, imagination and self-expression.
  • Plan and organize artistic activities and provide guidance and support.
  • Promote learning through art.
  • Develop and implement instruments and tools necessary to evaluate the progress of students.
  • Carry out lesson plans and submit them in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrate the impact of the program through ongoing monitoring and reporting of the objectives.
  • Participate in staff and teacher meetings.
  • Continually pursue personal and professional development.
  • Participate and collaborate in ministry celebrations and the Strong Families program.
  • Support continued development of English skills for children in the Transition Program. 
  • Monitor the learning of English skills for the children in the Strong Families program.
  • Create and implement an annual strategic plan and Ministry and Development Plan in alignment with the site strategic plan
  • Attend and complete staff meetings, live training, Back2Back Learn training and events on time.
  • Review daily email and respond within 24 hours.
  • Schedule all events and activities for the year.
  • Meet with the team on an ongoing basis.
  • Meet with Supervisor weekly.
  • Assist as needed with organizational special events.
  • Develop and maintain a team of ministry partners that fully fund the position.

Required education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 years of experience in education

Required skills and abilities:

  • Have a clear understanding of and commitment to Back2Back’s mission and vision.
  • Adhere to and share the Back2Back Statement of Faith, Cultural Values, and Standards of a Staff Member.
  • Operate with basic competency in Microsoft Office and Google Applications.
  • Assertive, clear and effective communication.
  • Flexibility to adapt teaching styles.
  • Empathetic, ability to understand and respond to the emotional needs of students.
  • Organization and creativity to plan and structure classes effectively.
  • Practice of healthy feedback.
  • Active listening and problem solving.
  • Perform needs assessments and evaluations.
  • Effective teamwork.
  • Demonstrate proactive leadership.
  • Fluent in Spanish and English (verbal and written).
  • Ability to collaborate in a demanding environment.
  • Proficient in Trauma Competent Care.
