Facilities Coordinator

Oversees building and ground maintenance to make the property a safe space inside and outside. Coordinates work orders, connecting with contractors to make repairs that cannot be fixed in house. Plans and hosts work projects for service groups and day trips that are on site.

Position summary: Oversees building and ground maintenance to make the property a safe space inside and outside. Coordinates work orders, connecting with contractors to make repairs that cannot be fixed in house. Plans and hosts work projects for service groups and day trips that are on site.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Oversees and coordinates room management, scheduling, as well as Training offerings for partner organizations. 
  • Coordinates, plans and leads volunteer groups on site .
  • Responds to maintenance requests.
  • Coordinates maintenance and upkeep on building and grounds. 
  • Schedules and oversees maintenance work orders. 
  • Prepares building and grounds for changing weather.
  • Monitors activities that happen outside the building, such as waste and recycling.
  • Monitors and manages facility access and safety protocols, including security systems and protocols.
  • Coordinate facilities services and vendors, including landscaping and security services.
  • Oversee Back2Back owned vehicle maintenance and upkeep.
  • Participate in Communities of Belonging & Transportation team as needed.
  • Assist as needed with organizational special events.
  • Develop and maintain a team of ministry partners that fully fund the position.

Required education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or handyman experience preferred

Required skills and abilities:

  • Have a clear understanding of and commitment to Back2Back’s mission and vision.
  • Adhere to and share the Back2Back Statement of Faith, Cultural Values, and Standards of a Staff Member.
  • Operate with basic competency in Microsoft Office and Google Applications.
  • Handyman experience.
  • Strong knowledge of facilities and maintenance.
  • Understand safety regulations.
  • Sound judgment and quick thinking. 
  • Ability to recruit, train and maintain volunteers. 
  • Work independently and efficiently to coordinate and execute systems and processes.. 
  • Communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing. 
  • Prioritize and develop relationships by showing compassion, using active listening skills and being socially perceptive. 
  • Demonstrate high reliability through timeliness and execution of responsibilities. 
  • Be proactive and demonstrate resilience by adapting to a constantly changing environment. 
  • Handle conflict in an honoring and truthful manner. 
  • Maintain confidentiality.
