Cecelia just turned 21 years old. We celebrated with cake, gifts and a small party. As we sang “Happy Birthday,” her eyes began to water. Seeing small tears stream down her face, you couldn’t help but wonder how long it had been since she had celebrated her birthday.
Recently, a shy nine-year old boy named Emi arrived at Douglas Children’s Home in Monterrey, Mexico, after his mother decided she was no longer able to care for him and his siblings. Emi just celebrated his ninth birthday.
God has been moving in the lives of eight middle school boys who live at Casa Hogar Douglas, a children’s home we serve in Monterrey, Mexico. The boys recently joined a soccer league where they play together weekly
Recently, I was able to be a part of a beautiful retreat for the Hope Education students in Monterrey, Mexico. 120+ teens who live in different children’s homes in Monterrey, Mexico. 40 staff and older teens who offered of themselves to serve. 9 cabins. 10 tents. 2 days. 1 message: My circumstances are temporary, but I am not.
