We had run into Target for a birthday card and gallon of milk. It was the weekend after Thanksgiving and I was determined to get in and out quickly to avoid the chaos of Christmas shopping. I attempted to quickly maneuver my cart past the toy section.
When I was little, I remember at Christmastime we often made Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes with my mom to send to children who didn’t have as much as we did. It seems so simple, but I now realize the impact it had on me was a lasting one.
In these tabernacle moments when we feel Him near, we can sense His dwelling among us. To borrow a phrase from the fifth century Christians, we are in a thin place.
It’s hard to put into words how amazing yesterday was for the Back2Back Mazatlan staff! We spent the day serving at Rancho de Los Niños, a children’s home in Mazatlan that caters to orphans with special needs.
