In 2008, Rick and Lisa left their home in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada and headed to Mexico with a big vision to bring holistic care to orphaned and abandoned children . In 2015 they founded a children’s home in Linares in partnership with Back2Back Mexico. This turned out to be a very successful venture for both parties and because of that, Linares has become the official 9th global site of Back2Back Ministries.
Rick and Lisa have 4 children and 5 grandchildren, only one of whom still lives with them in Mexico. They say it is the hardest thing about what they do. Although video calls help them keep up with all the family events, it is not the same as being there. That being said though, everyone in the family knows the importance of what they are doing in Mexico. Really it just makes the yearly visits that much sweeter!
The Burseys have big plans for the Linares site and are hoping to extend the Back2Back footprint with new programs that will impact the children of their area and their extended families. The future looks bright!
