The Training and Equipping Manager is responsible for developing and leading holistic, trauma-informed training strategies for Back2Back Cincinnati staff and community organizations.

Position summary: The Training and Equipping Manager is responsible for developing and leading holistic, trauma-informed training strategies for Back2Back Cincinnati staff and community organizations. This role focuses on implementing effective Trauma-Competent Care (TCC) coaching cohorts, scaling holistic coaching model training, and ensuring high-quality training delivery. The manager will oversee the implementation of training, guide organizations through Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) best practices, and co-manage Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) and Memoranda of Agreement (MOAs) to establish clear expectations and commitments.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee the implementation of trauma-informed training for staff and community organizations.
  • Collaborate with the Staff Development Manager to ensure all Back2Back Cincinnati Staff are certified in Trauma Competency.
  • Utilize Back2Back Cincinnati Affiliate Trainers to implement Trauma Informed Care training for partners and community assets.
  • Facilitate Trauma-Competent Care (TCC) coaching cohorts to support the effective implementation of Trauma-Informed Care.
  • Develop and refine a holistic coaching model to support community-wide trauma-informed practices.
  • Provide strategic guidance on trauma-informed training initiatives to ensure alignment with community needs.
  • Oversee the execution and adherence of MOUs/MOAs with organizations receiving training and coaching support.
  • Collaborate with the Site Leadership Team, Staff Development team, and Trauma Free World to ensure consistency in training and implementation.
  • Oversee Partner organizations’ “Affiliate Trainers” to ensure consistency in implementation.
  • Interact with and share open-handedly with the Child Family Development Team and Trauma Free World as needed.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and coaching cohorts, making adjustments as needed.
  • Work to infuse trauma-informed care into the systems of Cincinnati like Foster Care system, Adoption system, Justice system, Education systems, and others as needed. 
  • Equip Back2Back Cincinnati’s partners to become Trauma Informed Organizations. 
  • Assist as needed with organizational special events.
  • Develop and maintain a team of ministry partners that fully fund the position.

Required education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (4-year) or higher, preferably in Human Development, Community Engagement, Social Work, or Communication.
  • Experience working with children, families, and schools in a trauma-informed capacity.
  • 2+ years of experience in training

Required skills and abilities:

  • Have a clear understanding of and commitment to Back2Back’s mission and vision.
  • Adhere to and share the Back2Back Statement of Faith, Cultural Values, and Standards of a Staff Member.
  • Operate with basic competency in Microsoft Office and Google Applications.
  • Certified as an Affiliate Trainer in Trauma Competency (through Trauma Free World & Back2Back Cincinnati).
  • Strong leadership skills in training and coaching diverse groups.
  • Ability to develop and implement trauma-informed strategies at both organizational and community levels.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills, with experience managing training programs and tracking implementation progress.
