Celebrating Through the Hard Times

2021 was a difficult year for people everywhere. Staff and children in Haiti are no exception as they navigated educational changes due to the pandemic, and also adjusted to new ways of day-to-day life in response to riots, government tragedies, and additional closures. Staff stepped up in big ways to ensure children continued their schooling and experienced felt safety through all the ups and downs.

To commemorate making it through a difficult year, Weekendson Moise, Back2Back staff coordinated a large event at the Back2Back Haiti campus. Children  from all partnering homes, staff and their families, Hope Program students, and Strong Families were all in attendance to celebrate making it through 2021!

There were skits, poems recited, a violin player, and local musicians were all present for performing. Weekenson, a talented singer/songwriter, also debuted an originally written worship song for everyone.

Together, they worshiped, played, laughed, and enjoyed a meal. It was time set aside to recognize that life is not always easy or simple, but when we stick together, we can get through anything.
