Hyderabad is the capital of the new (as of June, 2014) State of Telangana, in southern India. The city has a population of 6.8 million residents, making it the fourth most populous city in the country. Known for its pearl and diamond industry, Hyderabad is also a hub for human trafficking in India, where children and parents alike grasp at promises that a better existence is just a few hundred kilometers away. Poverty is rampant among the 1.3 billion population of India which is growing at a rate of one child every 10 seconds. The most prominent religions here are Hinduism (70%) and Islam (25%), with Christianity making up a small minority (3-4%). Back2Back began working in India in 2008.
