Case Worker – Cincinnati

Position: Case Worker

Location: Cincinnati, Ohio

Status: Part-time

Reports to: Back2Back Cincinnati Director

Works closely with: Back2Back Cincinnati Team, Child Development Team

Summary: Utilize the 5-point Child Development Plan, Child Status Index, and other evidence based assessment and evaluation tools to offer valuable support and assistance for teenagers, children, and families in an effort to move them toward dependence on Jesus, interdependence in community, and economic independence.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Implement the student and family admission system for the Back2Back Cincinnati Program inclusive of:
    • Admission formats
    • Interviews with candidates/families and elaborate diagnose
    • Back2Back requirements
    • Child Protection Services requirements
    • Programs admission calendar
  • Maintain a caseload of 3-5 clients-families
  • Conduct regular in-home assessments (using Child Status Index, Risk Assessment, Environmental Scans), visiting each family bi-weekly
  • Help set visions and goals for each child and family
  • Collaborate with teachers, health professionals, spiritual leaders, and others to determine action plans and review goal progress
  • Aid with emergencies and problem solving
  • Attend appropriate staff meetings and trainings
  • Work with other staff to help plan activities (such as field trips, health visits, tutoring sessions)
  • Maintain records
  • Connect children and families with resources, services, and opportunities
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the Child Development Team to manage Back2Back Cincinnati related Trauma Competent Care needs.
  • Provide input as requested in other areas of the ministry, specifically those related to Social Work
  • Develop and maintain a team of ministry partners that fully fund the position
  • Other duties as assigned

Required education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Social Work (licensure preferred)
  • Training in Trauma Competent Care
  • Experience working with children or families
